Use your mihi at the beginning of any gathering to introduce yourself and where you come from.

Waitangi Day

Waitangi Day is New Zealand’s national day. It is a holiday held annually on February 6th to commemorate the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi on February 6th 1840. If Waitangi Day falls on a weekend, the following Monday will observe it so this year Feb 8th is a public holiday.
